One of my New Years Resolutions is to read more. As a little girl I was never without my nose buried in a book, and I think it is true the more you read the better you write. So I cast my mind back to what I have managed to read this past year, and though 6 books is pitiful (?!) I enjoyed them all:
The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks - After seeing the film a few months back I felt compelled to read the book, which is just as sweet, romantic and easy to read.
The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson - I confess, I did judge this book by the cover, and bought it at Gatwick airport before holidaying this year. The page edges are dyed black so you yourself resemble a gargoyle after holding it! A very dark and deeply enthralling novel.
Women who run with the wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes - Quite a well known title, and long to get through, but very inspiring if you feel you have lost your inner wild woman.
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen - I wrote about this is an earlier post.
Magus of Stonewylde by Kit Berry - The first of a series set in 'Stonewylde'. Easy reading and suited for those interested in a bit of mystery, nature, and romance.
The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen - Sarah's second book, just as enjoyable though I slightly preferred Garden Spells. She makes it easy for you to relate to her lead characters.
Any ideas for my reading list of 2009?!
