I am eagerly anticipating : Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones at London’s V&A museum.
The exhibit will display over 300 hats as chosen by one of the world’s foremost hat designers, expert milliner Stephen Jones, ranging from Egypt 600BC to 1950's Balenciaga hats and couture creations. Can’t wait!
In the meantime, I have been swooning over the most theatrical of hats and wishing I could find a way to integrate them into normal, every day existence. Any ideas on how one could do this – please do tell!?

(From L-R, Top - Bottom) Feathers galore The Hat Shop, Designer style Hats on Heads, Gorgeous Couture Louis Mariette, Cherry-tastic Victoria Grant, Butterfly Siggi Hats, electric blue mini topper KC's Hats, Vintage style Jane Taylor. Are you a hat person? Would you wear these if you could!?
i don't think i can pull off the hat look, but that pink egg-looking helmet is just fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh I LOVE hats and fascinators!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately most hats look silly on me :( but I CAN carry a facinator ok, so it's not all bad!
That very first black top hat would be on my head in an instant if my head actually matched it :D
My partner looks great in hats, and has a pretty funky collection, but I'm constantly annoyed when i try to borrow them, only to find I look ridiculous in them! Sigh! Oh well :)
Sounds like an exciting exhibit!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I am a bit self-conscious when it comes to wearing hats. I have a small collection of mostly winter hats (feminine ones, of course!), but I'd really like to break out of my comfort zone and find a real beauty! Something like the hat in the lower right corner of your collage would be fun to wear :)
i love the whimsy of hats.:)
ReplyDeleteone of my goals is to attend the kentucky derby....the hat gala of the year!
i too adore hats! the hat shop has such pretty little things for my head!

ReplyDeleteI'm really not much of a hat person, just cause they don't really suit me... But I do generally like them! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment, really appreciate it!
